How to Assign a New Team Owner

You can hand ownership of a team to another member from the team's Settings tab. Only a team Admin can do this.

  1. Click Teams in the left sidebar.

  2. Open the Settings tab.

  3. Scroll down to the Migrate Team section and click Change team owner.

  1. Open Select a team member and choose the person who should take over.

  2. If you want to leave the team once the transfer is done, tick I would like to be removed from this team after ownership transfer.

  3. Click Change owner.

A few things to know before you transfer:

  • Only active members appear in the list. Someone who has been invited but has not accepted yet cannot be made owner, so ask them to accept the invite first.

  • The new owner is notified by email.

  • Payment details stay the same, and the new owner will be able to change them.

Once you have confirmed, open the Team Members tab to check that ownership has moved.
