What is Feedback?
Last updated: October 23, 2026
Feedback reads a document and suggests edits for grammar, spelling, fluency, and clarity. AI detection is a separate scan, with its own result.
In the editor, the button is Proofread. In the results, the tab is Feedback.
How to start it
Enter your text in the editor. The check needs at least 250 characters.
Click Proofread in the editor toolbar. GPTZero opens Feedback and checks the document.
After another scan, you can also open the Feedback tab in the results. Choose Proofread there to see these suggestions.
How to read the results
Suggestions are grouped into two sections. Each section shows how many suggestions it has. Open a section to see them. If a section has nothing left, it says “No suggestions for this category.”
Correct grammar covers grammar, spelling, and fluency. In the editor toolbar, this section is labeled Grammar.
Improve clarity covers wording that is harder to follow than it needs to be. In the editor toolbar, this section is labeled Clarity.
A suggestion shows the passage and the change. Words to remove are struck through. The suggested words are in bold. A short note explains the change. Select a suggestion to jump to that passage in the document.
On a suggestion you can:
Accept, which applies the suggestion in the editor.
Dismiss, which hides that suggestion.
Copy the suggested wording. The control is labeled Copy suggestion.
On a PDF, accept stays off until you choose Switch to text view to accept suggestions.
